The Sims Game Review
As good as the Sims game was, it wasn't for everyone. Maybe cause some people don't see it as a game. That is because it lacked a goal, and left the player to decide their own goals. That is why we could call the Sims a toy instead of a game.
The Sims also owes a big part of it's success to the non-gamers, which came to the game mostly because of it's openness. If your imagination is not a barier then you will be pleased with the Sims. Which is even more so for the Sims 2 than it was for the original.
It must be hard to make a sequel of a best selling game, because you need to make it even better this time. If they decided to make too many changes in the game, they could risk the winning formula that made the original a best selling PC game of all time. On the other hand, if not enough was changed, it would just be a spinoff of the original.
With the new game they got rid of all problems the previous game had, they've greatly improved it's game play and the graphical upgrade they did was really needed. The sequel isn't a fine-tuned version compared to the first one, it's a whole new game!
The change you will notice the most is the great improvement of it's visual quality. All of the Sims' characters and things they can interact with are very nicely rendered. Also very noticable is the personality the Sims characters can express, because of the many variations of animations they have implemented to the game. Many of the animations also depend on the character's personality.
Even if some players still won't like the Sims 2, sims fans will be really impressed with the depth of play and the new additions.
